Mr. Gardners story is certainly a hero’s journey.  That is why it makes such a good Hollywood Movie.  He started out in life with a good Momma and good family values.  Except his step father was verbally abusive to him.  At the age of 5 he promised himself he was never going to be like that and that his kids would know their father.

He started out, after being a corpsman in the Navy, doing medical research on heart disease and treatment.  He met and fell in with his son’s Mother, who later abandoned him.  It wa when Chris Our hero, Mr. Gardner, played by Will Smith in the Movie The Pursuit of Happyness(yes it is spelled that way) certainly went through some tough times for about a year in his life where he and his 2-year old son were homeless.
