Trance Movie Review

Today is Movie Review Sunday.  I have always wanted to find a way to make money by watching movies and I think I may have found it with Empower Network.  But I digress.  First I’d like to thank YouTube and joblowmovienetwork  for this trailer about this movie.  Enjoy and then we’ll get into the review after.

Trance Movie Review

This movie is a mystery, thriller with many psychological twists and turns with brilliant actors James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Vincent Cassel.  It was directed by Danny Boyle of Train Spotting fame.

It is fascinating the way that Rosario Dawson, playing a hypnotherapist uses hypnotic language to help James McAvoy remember something he has forgotten.   I also loved the art auction scene where a painting is stolen right from the gallery during the auction.

I won’t ruin the movie for you.  Suffice it to say that it is brilliantly written, and there will be scenes that include violence, sexual situations and shocking scenes.  This is not for children in any way shape or form.   All I can say is Hell Hath No Furry Like A Woman Scorned.

Trance Movie Review

This heroes journey has many subplots and even a love triangle.  They follow a nontraditional journey, in fact the archetype here is not one of a hero, more like the hero with a troubled past, and a woman hero with a secret and you find yourself in the end no knowing what to feel about her.

There is no black and white ending here, just as in life.   I can’t tell you more that would ruin the movie for you.  You even find yourself rooting for the villain in this movie…..again brilliantly written.  I found myself thoroughly exhausted after watching it.    It still made for an enjoyable escape from the world for an afternoon.
