But first, I spent time “frozen” in front of our TV, watching CNBC, and Bloomberg Television. I started reading Barons, and The Financial Times, trying to understand the markets of the World economy. Global markets, especially the VIX were crazy during this time! I also spent that time working on my company website, and deciding on the best name for my company.
I’ve Been “Around The Block” More Than A Couple Times
Back in the days of looking at Network Marketing companies(now many of them are part of the online business industry) I had heard the tape “Pigs don’t know Pigs Stink” In that tape, he talked about the name of his company being his “last name – enterprises.” Little did I know then, that having a name like that, really is a dead giveaway in the consultant world, for a newbie, or new, online business industry, owner. Lincoln Enterprises just didn’t sound right to me. It was not a good brand, so I kept on looking.
My Experience As An Online Business Industry Business Owner
At the time, in 2008, I was a gun-for-hire, special event/trade show booth sales/sponsorship consultant. This online business industry was very new to me. I really had no idea what to expect. I was just trying to survive. Once you start a business, you can afford to eat and go to family holidays, only if you sell something. I had no idea what I could sell. So these were slim years.
I Knew I Wanted To Own A Business
Owning a business was very important to me and still is to this day. Why? I hate with a passion, working for others in a job. But, what business? That was my big question. Previously, I had sold exhibit-booths for clients holding trade shows, and now and then. Sometimes, I would contract with my clients as a show manager. Other times it would be as part of show management or crew. I was also a sponsorship consultant during the beginning years of my business from 1993-2008.
Market Frozen: Lots Of Free Time
But now, I had tons of time on my hands, as most markets were still frozen, or growing slowly. The funny thing is, if you can call anything funny about 2008, the funny thing is that my dream meetings with CMO’s in Fortune 500 companies started happening, but it turned into them looking for work with me.
Recessions Are Good For The Online Business Industry
You see, marketing budgets get cut in recessions when the unemployment rate is over 6%. I’d seen this phenomenon a couple of times before, in smaller recessions, and it was happening again on a larger scale. The Great Recession was severe, and it will not soon be forgotten. Back then, I needed to figure out what I was going to sell in my business and I really had no idea. Later, I found out that the online business industry sees an increase in revenue during recessions.
Find A Business Name
I also started doing research on the best name for my company. We sorted through Eight Hundred different name choices during this frustrating time. Visualthesaurus.com is a great site to help you find the perfect brand name for your company. It certainly helped me sort through the different possibilities. I went through Lincoln Event Marketing, and some other versions, until I finally came up with Market Share Developers. Still, It didn’t help me with the economy being frozen. If truth be told, I was not happy with that name either.
Commercial Real Estate As Part Of My Online Business Industry Introduction
In 2008 I was looking for anything to earn some great money! I even bought an online, commercial real estate, investment course, but the owner made so much money, he closed up shop and started a foundation. If I find deals for him l still have access to him today. Here are our criteria for deals if you are looking to get rid of an income producing, commercial property(shameless plug) This all happened while I was starting in the online business industry. I now have a site up, on a Blogger blog. But, that is not our primary business or site. We’ll make it nicer on a real site later. I keep it up because it took a lot of work to learn how to negotiate the commercial deals, and place it all online, so I am taking the approach of, “You Never Know What Might Happen.”

It All Started With Cows
As I was scrolling through Facebook one day, I ran into an image of cows in one of the posts. The ad said to click the image of the cows and be taken to a page about a business opportunity or something to that effect. I did, and the rest is history, as they say. Next, I saw a video of a man by the name of Mack, and his EZ Money System.
Mack Is a Brilliant Marketer
Little did I know then, that Mack(my first online business industry sponsor) actually was a brilliant marketer! I learned a lot from Mack about the online business industry. He was one of three people who introduced me to the online business Industry. The others were Brian Moran and Eric Humboldt. Now, after 6 years of experience, and $40,000, plus-spent, in some of the right and wrong strategies, I can make your learning curve a lot smoother than mine was back then.
I Wrote A Lot In The Beginning
Mack originally sold me a membership to a blogging platform and a set of audio recordings by successful bloggers, and other online business industry experts. I now have experienced blogging, while writing over 600 blog posts of my own, plus some guest blog posts on other people’s blogs. I have also started as a ghostwriter for other people’s blogs. This learning how to write for blog posts has made me a better writer, and marketer. I’ve now learned how to sell online, and have some sales results in different companies.
If At First You Do Not Succeed Be Persistent
Those first, two, years were intense. I wrote a blog post a day, and many days worked 14-22 hours a day producing content. A lot of it was poorly written, and now I am rewriting most of my posts. I use special software now to help me write a better post. But, they are starting to do well in Google Analytics. Which means, they are getting web traffic almost automatically, as long as my blog is live on the Internet. Acquiring new backlinks helps as well. When I think back, I didn’t know then, that the online business industry is a World of brilliant marketing and advertising professionals.
The Online Business Industry Measures Your Success Daily
It does not matter who you have been in your past, in this internet marketing/network marketing/home business/direct sales industry, only what you do daily counts. Mack is a testament to that. He has many email lists, and if you measure his total subscriber list, I am sure he has list numbers, in the high, hundred’s of thousands of people, all that want his information about the next big, business opportunity or product he is selling. I couldn’t have started with a better mentor.
Lead By Example In The Online Business Industry
Mack taught me, by selling to me, not, by holding my hand and walking me through things step by step. In other words, he set the example of how he actually earned his money online. I bought a lot of Mack’s products, ask him. Then, I reverse-engineered what he sent me(his funnels)and learned part of the “combination of “marketing tactics and strategies” that the online business industry uses. One thing I will always remember about Mack, He said,
“Stimulate First, Educate Second.” ~Mack

“The people who made the money in the Gold Rush were not the prospectors, but the people selling them to tools to mine for Gold!” ~Mack

First Stimulate: The Luxurious Life In The Online Business Industry
My exposure to the online business Industry started when Mack produced a great video, with a private jet, and a Maybach, parked in front of it. He was wearing diamond-crusted watches, he talked about money flowing like water in the “bridge video!” It was like “a party going on,” with rap music and wealthy people(which is weird that I liked it on a subconscious level. I tend to not like rap music, but it, and they were the background of this particular video.
I’d Seen This Scene In The Online Business Industry
Magazine Ad Before Seeing Mack’s Video
Because of this fact, I was psychologically predisposed to Mack’s video. He patterned it off of a video, and an ad, I saw in an Internet Marketing Magazine. I was already a subscriber to this marketing magazine from another Internet Marketer. The scene in Mack’s video reminded me of what I saw in the magazine article. It was very stimulating and reminded me of the corporate jet I saw in the first Magazine ad. Russell Brunson, another Internet marketer, was behind this magazine. Both, were emotionally stimulating, showing me the lifestyle of riches that I wanted back then. Next, Mack’s video directed me to a “capture page,” in which I entered my email address to learn more about how Mack could work in this online business industry, and live this luxury lifestyle.

He Said Thank You
I joined Mack’s program of three affiliate offers(two I did not like and did nothing with) and Empower Network(now defunct and closed) was also part of the EZ Money System, and I said to myself, “This Time, I am going to make this “network marketing thing” work out no matter what.” You see, I had left several network marketing companies throughout my life. As soon as I paid for the program, the next screen on my computer I saw was a Thank You Page, with information about what to do next. Also, my email box had a message from him every day for about 3 or 4 days. Each message helped me understand what this online business industry thing was all about. Mack used an auto-responder software program to write these email messages.
My Username For My First Serious Business Online
When I visited my back office, I even used my username to signify(to myself and others) how I felt about this online business industry. Finding this industry was like discovering buried treasure on a pirate’s island to me! I chose Linc(my nickname in High School. and 1.618 which is perfect proportionality in nature, or you may know of it, as “the golden ratio,” according to a book on chaos, I just read. I felt as though I had found the perfect business for me and Linc1618 was born! Google it, you’ll see what I mean.

My First Online Business Industry Event
I purchased the Blog and the Inner Circle to see, for myself, if the products were any good. You see, I was selling them, and I had also bought my first event ticket to the quarterly events this company held. So, I was serious about this move in my life toward a better career.
Events Are Awesome!
Actually, at this event, I became almost hypnotized by the speaker. He told me to stop watching TV and work on my business instead. I did that for about two years! It is easy to fall in love with this online business industry. And I did. Why? Because the people in this company had similar ideas, like me, and had not fit in anywhere in the business world, before joining this company, and others like it. They and I had a place to build a business while having a life! I still love that concept to this day!
Online Business Industry Demographics and Psychographics
People Come From All Walks of Life
The people I saw in this business took care of kids by themselves and as couples, going to school, being treated for a spinal disease or caring for an autistic child. Some helped blind and deaf people live a life of their dreams. These are examples of the types of people who are in this “world.” Of course, there are many, different types, of people, in this online business industry. But, roughly 75% had families of their own from one qualitative survey I saw ran at an event, i.e. people raised their hands if they had children in their direct family
Some People In The Online Business Industry Are Professionals
A few people at these events also had MBA’s and were high-powered, ex-hedge fund owners, Moms, and Dads that wanted to spend time with their children instead of a corporate office cubicle, and some Moms and Dads that home school their children. Others were single, young and old people who also started in this online business industry. Many of whom, just had a new baby in their life. Others, were musicians in bands, ex-fitness models, and plain, old, everyday people, from a “park bench to Park Avenue,” and everything in-between. These are the kind of people you will find in the online business industry. One thing these people all had in common – they were in this industry celebrating life! I was really impressed, with that ideal after attending my first event, in my home town of Chicago. That is where my first real online business started.
The Grinder Phase ~ Work Begins
Six years later, I still love this business. I’m no longer a newbie, I have found my passion in life, and I am getting better at this online business industry daily. “You do not build your business in a day, you build it daily.” I heard this from some of my online mentors. Truer words were never spoken.
Everyone In The Online Business Industry Starts Where They Start
Some people take 7 years or longer, “jumping” from thing to thing until they reach that level of income. Some do it in 6 months. Most never make any money. Why? I have found that most people are not willing to do what it takes(I mean the amount of work, at the right time, and under the right market conditions.) I’ve learned this from helping over a thousand people get clear about what their business is and is not for a workout partner of mine
You Sell Products Or Services That Help Other Business Owners
The best part about this business is that the business products we sell teach you the mindset of a successful entrepreneur. They also teach you how to market online for any business. It’s really like earning a Ph.D. – level, marketing education degree, but there is no diploma on the wall that you receive when you’re done. Your lifestyle in this industry, what others only dream about for their life, can be yours for the taking. That is the proof you have “made it,” or become financially successful in this online business industry. A big part of why I stayed in this amazing industry is because the people you meet are the nicest people I have ever met. Plus, you can travel the World if you want to, with the people in this Industry, from the profits you can earn.
I Started With E-zine Articles & Blogger Blogs
Now, I am a bit of a marketing geek, so it is hard to admit this. You see, I had already produced 84 Blogger blogs(it’s o.k. You can laugh) and I had made $125 in another company before they folded. My first paycheck in the online business industry, actually came, unexpectedly, in the mail. It was from work I had done the previous month. The sale came from a blog post selling a meter that measured your brain waves, as you got crystal clear about the life you wanted. I’ll tell you what, the first time you make money from something you wrote once online, and then forget about, that experience is priceless!
The Online Business Industry Feeds Off Of Traffic To Websites
Your content starts getting traffic from “search engines,” the better it is, in terms of search engine optimization(SEO.) In addition, you can get more traffic still because of your “syndication” or sharing your blog post link, on the Internet. They say you should spend about 4X’s effort, and time, syndicating your work than you did to produce it. It starts slowly, getting web traffic to your blog and each post. You also have to learn how to attract the buyer-types to your content. Your blog can grow in global and local country popularity, which means more traffic(people reading what you wrote and posted) because you shared your post with as many targeted sources as possible.
Blogging That Gets You Great Sales Results
When sales come in, from what seems like auto-pilot actions, you can easily get hooked on blogging, at least, I was and still am today. Empower Network was a system that was going to teach me how to blog and make a great living doing it. In addition, it helped me build up my agency, and marketing skills. Too bad the owners decided to close it. They had made about $150,000,000 when they did. The final outcome for me is to consult with Fortune 500 and 1000 companies on their content marketing strategies and tactics. That is just one of my strategies for generating revenue for our business. Selling products and services is the main way to earn money with the online business industry.
Leaving The Grinder Phase
Once you get through the Grinder Phase, you have learned the proper skill-sets, and have the social proof required to excite, or stimulate people enough, that they want to learn more about your offer, and your business. These skill-sets can make it easier to get new clients/customers into your business and grow your income, and overall business. It is at this point, that you officially leave the grinder phase! When you do, celebrate this fact, because you have worked very hard, and sacrificed a lot to get there. Congratulations!
Previously I Sold As “The Middle Man”
In the past, I farmed out the work I could find, for my roughly, fifty “agents,” all of whom had at least one million-dollar results for their clients, at least once in their career. That was my criteria for bringing them on as consultants for us. That was my business model then. I would “throw” new client jobs or gigs “over the wall,” and take my 10%, as a middleman, at best, or I would sell the job and then do the work myself. I was not a good consultant, because I was still learning how to sell. Classes with top-level corporate, sales consultants, The Samurai Business Group helped me understand the details and philosophy of complex selling in a corporate setting.
Learn To Sell and Embrace It
Robert Kiyosaki said that learning how to sell is the first and most important thing for a business owner to learn. Truer words were never spoken. I learned a lot about selling my/our services in sales meetings. Now, I am learning how to do what “my consultants” were so good at doing, which was selling, but we are doing it online, to start. I was, then, and now, every day, becoming a better marketer because of learning about, and taking action in the online business industry. I only got on the phones with paying customers, that had first purchased my products and services online from myself or from my workout partner.

Some Of The Best Marketers And Advertisers In The World
Online mentors that I have learned from, that I’ve met or not met, but saw online, can get amazing results. I would seriously bet on getting better results than some of the best agency professionals, in the best firms, in the World. One partner team of two people, that owned the products I sold in my first, online business, earned over 150 million dollars from 2012-2017. I believed then, and I still believe now, that this industry, was and is, the place for me to build my career and give me the ability to earn an extra income source for my growing family!
The Secret I Had Stumbled Onto
The secret, or treasure I found, is that the people “running and succeeding” in this a multi-billion dollar industry, that is spanning the World, really know this field. I got so excited that I took the time and effort to offer my service as a volunteer helping industry leaders, and now my friends. Success leaves clues. That is why I fight so hard to stay in this business, even when the going gets tough, as it does and can in any business until you become a master of it. Learning Phase: Online Business Industry
You learn who you are, and who you are not online. Also, you learn what you are willing to do, and what you are not willing to do for ethical reasons. There are some real “sharks” out there, so be careful. Spend your extra money, slowly. Do not spend your living-expense money. No one here wants you to spend that money. Think of it like the money you spend on gambling. But, test, measure and then scale up your business, once you see that what you are doing is working to produce your income. Again, never use your living-expense money! There I said it twice! Watch out for sharks that want you to use it!
Sorting Phase: Online Business Industry
You begin to say NO to the sharks. You are much more discerning about the tools you use, and every income-producing action you take goes toward getting better results in your main, business. Period. It is fine to sell little affiliate offers, like aweber.com, funnel software. You can also sell tools to help your team market, your main business. But, never stray from selling your main business opportunity. Become successful at it. Period! Or stay in it until they go out of business. Learn how to sell those products and services online first, before you sell a new, main, business opportunity. There are lots of products and services out there to sell, pick the one that’s right for you. Only you will know what that means to you and your business.
Online Business Industry Disasters
Your First Companies May Go Out Of Business
Yep, that happened to me, and I’ve seen it many times with other people. I have one, and only one, main, business opportunity that I sell, at any one time. You will see a lot of people come and go in this industry, and see people taken to court, have the FTC, SEC, and other government agencies investigate and prosecute them. Typically, it is because they get too big, too quickly, and do not watch what they or their staff say to potential customers. Stay the course, and stay ethical and legal, in your business dealings with customers. This is a multi-billion dollar industry and there is plenty of room for the serious business owners to earn a great living.
Master Phase: Online Business Industry
Once you have logged about 10,000 hours, using a certain tactic or strategy, you will start to master that tactic or strategy. Make sense? After you’ve earned your first $1,000, in this online business industry, you can begin to master paid advertising strategies. Prior to that, Master one or two “unpaid” or less expensive marketing tactics and strategies. Nothing online is free to use. Even your computer needs electricity and your phone needs service. You have to pay for that, right?
Harvesting Phase: Online Business Industry
In this phase, you can start to harvest more income, as long as the Internet is running. You earn it from the strategies you mastered and all the business assets you have created, running on the Internet, Three Hundred and Sixty-five days a year, Seven days a Week, Twenty-four hours each day. That is the huge reason I am in this business. Once you set up your systems they run as long as you pay for them, and as long as the Internet is working for you. Every bit of content you place on the internet, each “sales funnel” you build, and each video you post replaces you as they act like “little-sales-robots” attracting people to you and your business, selling for you while you are having fun somewhere else. Once your systems are set-up you can earn great results for your business, in this online business industry.
Teach Others To Duplicate Your Results
Teaching Phase: Online Business Industry
Service Before Self is the slogan for Rotary International. They’ve been my clients in the past, both locally and internationally. That slogan reminds me that this is how you succeed online because you teach people to duplicate your sales results. You can also make more money on top of the money you made in the Harvesting phase, as you can “earn on pass-ups” from other people, sometimes two-levels deep, and many times depending on the company you sell for, many more layers deep, of commissions on product sales that you earn. You get your part of the commission, for bringing the company new sales of their products.
The Big Secret of The Online Business Industry
The big secret that I have found is that “the holy grail” in this online business industry is:
- teaching others how to do the same
- selling them the tools they need to succeed.
Now, that you are learning how to sort through the many people who say they are ready:
- to find the few people who really are ready
- willing and able, to build teams in your primary business
It can get much easier for you in your business.
Coaching People In The Online Business Industry
Next, You can teach them how to sort through many people. They can learn how to attract them with their marketing, and advertising. That income producing action will attract the right type of buyers. Do anything else in your network marketing and direct sales business, and you will lose money.
Three Months of Income Results In A Row
Until you have earned at least $10,000 for at least 3 months in a row do not coach anyone. Instead, concentrate on sales. Share your sales results with your team. That will show them what’s possible for them in the online business industry. Then, you really have what people need, i.e., the knowledge they can use to grow their business. Anytime we talk about money make sure you give an income disclaimer. Your results will vary and be your own. Income result from many factors. You may not earn any money
